On this past weekend’s “Minding Your Business” on News 12+, the show visited the home of the New Jersey Council of County Colleges to discuss NJBioFutures, New Jersey’s strategic workforce solution for the life sciences and biomanufacturing sector.
NJBioFutures is working to strengthen our state’s cell and gene therapy industries with education and training from the state’s community colleges and the New Jersey Pathways initiative.
Joining the conversation with host Bob Considine on this transformative collaboration were
- Conrad Mercurius, Executive Director, Workforce Development & Career Education, Raritan Valley Community College
- Jennifer Kaklamanis, Director, Workforce Education, Mercer County Community College
- Joanie Coffaro, Vice President for External Affairs, Communication, and Advancement, Middlesex College
“We have developed good manufacturing practices, pharmaceutical aseptic manufacturing and aseptic bio manufacturing, and all three are almost ready to launch,” Kaklamanis said. “We have two underway and a final [certificate] that will launch with the launch of all of our labs.
“Students can go right out and get a job as an aseptic cleaner or a GMP cleaner and get started in the pharmaceutical industry right away.”
NJBIA’s “Minding Your Business” is a weekly TV show and the winner of seven Telly Awards over the past three years, including a gold 2024 Telly in the Interview & Talk Show category.
