On this past weekend’s ‘Minding Your Business,’ the show traveled to Atlantic City to learn more about the Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind project – which is slated to bring carbon-free energy to more than 700,000 homes.
Joris Veldhoven, Commercial and Finance Director with Atlantic Shores, and Jennifer Daniels, Development Director, also explained how the project will result in thousands of well-paying, direct jobs for New Jersey.
The company has been working on the lease area, between Atlantic City and Long Beach Island since 2018. They were asked by host Bob Considine what it will feel like when the project starts delivering renewable power by 2027.
“I think it’s going to be an incredibly exciting day,” Daniels said. “But it’s not really just seeing it for the next five years. It’s knowing that the project is going to be operating for the next 30.”
“For us, it will feel incredibly personal when we finally deliver first clean, renewable power to New Jersey,” Veldhoven added. “But it’s not really about us, it’s about ultimately the state of New Jersey doing the right thing.”
