Healthcare executives, leaders of pharmaceutical and life science companies, researchers, and patient advocates will provide insights into the partnerships that foster the development of life-saving research and cures during an upcoming Rutgers University spring symposium.
“Life Sciences and Healthcare Institutions: Partners for Life,” presented by the Rutgers Master of Health Administration Program in the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, will be held from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., April 26, at the Cook Campus Center, 59 Biel Road, New Brunswick. The program is free, but preregistration is required.
The keynote speaker is Tom Hubbard, senior vice president of Policy Research at the Network for Excellence in Health Innovation (NEHI) in Boston, a national nonprofit dedicated to exploring complex problems in healthcare to address unmet needs and improve equitable access.
The symposium also features three informative panels with experts who will discuss conducting and funding research, the interplay between health systems and external industries in clinical trials, and a regulatory overview of ethics and equity in research, including changes needed to enrich outcomes.
Over a dozen experts will participate in the 50-minute panel discussions followed by audience questions. The panel discussion portion of the program takes place between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Networking opportunities are available between 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. during a special networking reception after the last panel discussion concludes.
