Angeline Gil, who won an NJBIA Rising Star Award in 2021 as an undergraduate, will be the student speaker when Berkeley College honors the next generation of business, healthcare and community leaders at its 2023 commencement ceremonies on May 11.
A first-generation college graduate and daughter of immigrant parents from the Dominican Republic, Gil will receive her Bachelor of Business Administration in Health Services Management during the commencement ceremonies at the Prudential Center in Newark. A Paterson resident, Gil is currently enrolled in the Master of Business Administration in Management program at Berkeley College.
Gil chose to study Health Services Management to combine her mutual interests in healthcare and business. She said the COVID-19 pandemic inspired her to seek a career in public health and that she one day aspires to hold a leadership position at a New Jersey hospital.
Two years ago, NJBIA recognized Gil as an undergraduate with its Rising Star Award, which honors New Jersey college students who exhibit business leadership potential.
More than 1,100 Berkeley graduates will be recognized at the commencement ceremony.
Cadjnie Cameau, who will receive her Bachelor of Business Administration in Health Services Management, will be honored with an Outstanding Student Award. During her undergraduate career at Berkeley, Cameau was a regular recipient of President’s List honors for her academic achievements, served as a student aide to the Campus Operating Officer, and completed an internship with a woman-owned media and creative agency.
Class of 2016 member Maria Rosario Behun, who is now a vice president and community manager at JP Morgan Chase & Co., will be honored as the Alumna of Year.
