Businesses and community groups can help raise funds for homeless youth and survivors of human trafficking by supporting or participating – either in person or virtually – in Covenant House New Jersey’s “Sleep Out Asbury Park” event the night of March 14-15.
The nonprofit has set a $125,000 fundraising goal for this Sleep Out event at the Boys & Girls Club of Monmouth County in Asbury Park. People can also join the fundraising event virtually by giving up their bed for one night and “sleeping out” in their car, backyard, couch or floor – or any other location that is safe and legal.
Participants are required to fundraise with a suggested goal of $300 for students age 12-21 and $1,500 for adults. Virtual participants may set lower fundraising goals. Corporate sponsorship opportunities are also available.
Sleep Out is more than just a night without a bed. At a Sleep Out, Covenant House residents share their journeys through homelessness, and experts empower participants to meaningfully advocate for an end to youth homelessness.
During FY 2025, Covenant House New Jersey provided help to 2,373 young people, providing on average 262 beds for homeless youth every night, for a total of 95,735 nights of housing. Covenant House New Jersey has locations in Newark and Atlantic City as well as transitional housing throughout the state.
