NJBIA President & CEO Michele Siekerka told NJ Spotlight News’ Rhonda Schaffler that recent spikes in COVID-19 cases are being caused by home gatherings, not workplaces, because businesses are following health and safety guidelines that protect workers and customers.

That’s why, Siekerka says, the governor’s most recent executive order mandating safety standards and the creation of an online complaint system and state inspections, just saddles businesses with more red tape at a time when they are fighting for their survival. Siekerka has instead asked for more balance in terms of addressing liability concerns for business owners.
