Half of New Jersey business owners expect to see continued revenue losses from the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, with some industries hurting much more than others, NJBIA President & CEO Michele Siekerka told NJ101.5 News.

“We definitely saw some businesses that were more significantly impacted, such as healthcare, transportation services and retail, as well as manufacturing,” Siekerka told reporter Dina Flammia on Monday.

Siekerka also told Rhonda Schaffler of NJ Spotlight News that employers, according to the survey, face a long climb in making back money lost to the pandemic.

“The sad part about this is about 50% of them tell us it’s going to take more than a year just to get back to equal, to where they were before,” she said. “That’s just making enough money to pay their expenses. We’re not even talking about turning a profit.”
