The Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey (CCSNJ) recently announced the promotion of Hilary Chebra as the organization’s Director of Government Affairs.
In her new position, Chebra will continue to serve as the CCSNJ’s primary lobbyist in Trenton and is responsible for the planning and execution of the CCSNJ’s policy-related events, as well as public policy research reports focused on the South Jersey business community. Chebra will continue to report to Christina M. Renna, President & CEO.
“Throughout her tenure at the CCSNJ, Hilary has taken her vast public sector experience and applied it successfully to assist our members, while never missing an opportunity to embrace and advocate for the issues of import to South Jersey’s private sector,” Renna said. “This promotion is beyond well-deserved, and we are proud to have Hilary serving in a more prominent policy role with the CCSNJ.”
Chebra said she is thrilled to be taking on the role of Director of Government Affairs, calling it an “incredible opportunity to continue to lead meaningful advocacy efforts, strengthen connections between our business community and government, and champion policies that drive growth and prosperity across the region.”

Prior to joining the CCSNJ in 2020, Chebra served as the cabinet liaison in the Office of former Gov. Phil Murphy. Before she was Chief of Staff to Senator Troy Singleton (D-7).
Ms. Chebra earned her bachelor’s degree in political science, with a concentration in international studies, from Rowan University.
