Tomorrow is GivingTuesday, the global day of giving celebrated by nonprofits, corporations, and donors alike. At one New Jersey nonprofit, the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving is also an opportunity to double the impact of your donation.
Fulfill, formerly known as the Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, has announced that in honor of the nonprofit’s 40th anniversary, an anonymous donor has offered to match donations – up to $40,000 – to make charitable gifts go twice as far on GivingTuesday. This means every dollar donated can provide six meals to the hungry, instead of just three.
Fulfill has a network of nearly 300 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, day programs, group homes, and more that it works closely with to help those in need. Fulfill is a Charity Navigator 4-star charity, with 96 cents of every dollar donated going directly to Monmouth and Ocean residents in need in the form of food and other programs that strengthen communities.
GivingTuesday donations can be made on behalf of individuals, businesses, or other organizations by visiting Fulfill’s website here.
Donations also can be made in honor of someone else, with an option for Fulfill to notify that person about the gift. Donors can make a general donation or direct it to a specific Fulfill program, such as the mobile food pantry, the kids’ feeding program, holiday meals, and more.
Fulfill also accepts nonperishable food donations at its two locations in Monmouth and Ocean counties: 3300 Route 66 in Neptune, and 1769 Hooper Avenue in Toms River. These sites are open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday. For more information, call 732-918-2600.
