Please join us on Wednesday, April 23 , from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for our Virtual NJBIA Education & Workforce Development Policy Committee Meeting being held online via Zoom video conferencing.
Our presenters are Jeran Culina, Senior Manager with Business Leaders United for Workforce Partnerships and Amanda Burgson-Shilcock, Senior Fellow with the National Skills Coalition.
Business Leaders United is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) private network comprised of employers from a range of industries across the nation that promotes inclusive, high-quality skills training policies to build the workforce that businesses need to grow and thrive. The National Skills Coalition engages in analysis and technical assistance, organizing, advocacy, and communications to improve state and federal skills policies to ensure access to a better life for people, and sustained growth for businesses.
Jeran and Amanda will discuss recent federal policy changes on immigration and workforce development as they affect employers and immigrant workers. Their conversation will shed light on what has changed, what has not, and opportunities for businesses to take action in support of federal education and workforce investments.
Additionally, NJBIA will provide a legislative update during the meeting. If you have any matters you would like to have covered, please email Althea D. Ford at aford@njbia.org.
