The New Jersey Pathways to Career Opportunities initiative, a partnership formed by New Jersey’s Community Colleges and NJBIA, is highlighted in a new Forbes story citing the need for skilled workers, and how community colleges can provide them.
Contributing writer Maria Flynn, a New Jersey resident, said New Jersey pathways is a “promising” statewide initiative “bringing together community colleges and employers to provide people with educational opportunities that directly align with the state’s labor market demands.”
“Made possible through a $14.5 million, two-year investment from the governor and state legislature, the New Jersey Pathways to Career Opportunities initiative is led by the state’s 18 community colleges and the New Jersey Business and Industry Association. They’re partnering with high schools, employers, and post-secondary institutions to help prepare students for 22 career options in industries as varied as data science, construction, and supply-chain management.
“The pathways, centered around industry-valued credentials, start in high schools and continue to community college and four-year college degree programs.”
