The Department of Children and Families has opened the grant application process for licensed summer camps seeking grants that can be used to hire staff and help families defray tuition costs.
Grants range from $7,500 to up to $25,000, depending on how many weeks the program runs and the number of campers it serves. Priority will be given to organizations that have not already received any federal American Rescue Plan (ARP) Stabilization Grant funding.
The 2022 Summer Youth Camp Grant application process opened on May 9. Applications will continue to be accepted through Aug. 5. Programs licensed through DCF’s Office of Licensing that have a Department of Health (DOH) certificate of approval to operate a summer youth camp during the summer 2022 season may be eligible for grants.
To apply, summer camp programs must go to their online account in the New Jersey Child Care Information System (www.NJCCIS.com) and complete the online grant application in the NJCCIS Quicklinks section.
More information about childcare program assistance grants can be found on the DCF website here, including a factsheet about the summer youth camp grant program.
