Businesspeople who aspire to serve on boards of directors, or current board members who want to excel in their roles, can learn firsthand from experts about how to achieve these goals in Navigating Your Path to the Boardroom, on Tuesday, April 15.
NJBIA President & CEO Michele Siekerka and other prominent board members will be sharing their insights on how to navigate a career path to the boardroom during this event presented by the New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).
Attendees will gain valuable information during three dynamic panel discussions with interactive Q&A, and benefit from networking opportunities to grow their professional connections. Siekerka will be part of the first panel discussion, “Women Board Members and their Journey to the Boardroom,” which will also feature:
- Tanuja Dehne, a public company director (Granite Point Mortgage Trust Inc.), the former president and CEO of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, and a former C-level executive of NRG Energy, Inc.
- Daria Torres, managing partner, Walls Torres Group, and an independent director of Columbia Bank New Jersey.
Other panel sessions will focus on resources that are available to help businesspeople on career paths to the boardroom; board oversight of fast-growing private and private equity-backed companies; and a concurrent third session on not-for-profit boards.
