Businesses can learn more about the efforts shaping the future of workforce development in New Jersey during virtual collaborative meetings in April highlighting the progress being made under the New Jersey Pathways to Career Opportunities initiative. 

Under this initiative, the New Jersey Council of County Colleges has formed impactful partnerships with industry and government agencies that have resulted in support and funding for new education and training pathways. 

Free one-hour online meetings will provide participants with in-depth insights into the ongoing workforce development efforts in five rapidly growing sectors: manufacturing & supply chain management; technology and innovation; health services; infrastructure and energy; and emerging industries. Seven virtual meetings are planned in April: 

  • Infrastructure & Energy. A progress report from the Center of Workforce Innovation for Construction and the Center of Workforce Innovation for Renewable Energy at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 17. Register here.

Under the Pathways initiative, community colleges and NJBIA are leading an unprecedented collaborative effort of businesses, industry associations, chambers of commerce, labor unions, workforce development boards, state government, community-based organizations, adult literacy training providers, vocational technical school districts, private career schools, and four-year colleges and universities to provide students and workers with the career pathways they need to find new careers and jobs, and to ensure that employers have access to a highly skilled workforce to meet critical labor market needs.
