The New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors is offering a complimentary online seminar designed to help nonprofit board members refine leadership skills, expand professional networks, and create meaningful impact in communities they serve.
The Journey to Non-Profit Board Service program will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday, July 14. Independent Board Director Robin Doyle will moderate a discussion with Sara Peña, director of External Affairs for PSEG; and Sherise Ritter, a board leader with extensive experience across healthcare and nonprofit organizations. Ritter is currently managing director at The Mercadien Group, where she co-chairs the firm’s Nonprofit and Human Services area.
Program attendees will gain insight into:
- The pathways to securing a nonprofit board seat
- The essential qualities of a successful board member – from mission alignment to relationship-building
- The realities of board service, including the commitments of time, talent, and financial contributions
- The key differences between nonprofit and for-profit board governance
