The Mantoloking Road Playhouse, a community project from Kendra and Anthony Zarrilli of Brick, will open its doors to theatergoers this week.

The Playhouse will be home to the Brick Children’s Community Theater, which will be celebrating its 33rd season in the new venue.

The Zarrillis, which have been involved with BCCT for more than 15 years, invested $2.4 million to transform a former dilapidated boatyard located at 266 Mantoloking Road into Brick’s first live theater and arts venue.

With the integration of the unused basement space in the building, the theater features 120 seats, 20-foot ceilings, a 20’ x 40’ stage, high tech LED lighting and projections, and quality acoustics.

The Zarrillis’ relationship with BCCT formed when their young daughters joined.

BCCT’s previous performances were always held in venues at neighboring towns, which led the Zarrillis on a path to create its own theater.

While BCCT will be the in-house resident at the Mantoloking Road Playhouse, it will also be available for other performing arts groups and performances, such as music shows, small recitals and stand-up comedians.

The inaugural event for Frozen Jr., from March 6-9, is already sold out.

However, the Grand Opening Gala benefiting BCCT and featuring BCCT Alumni and Brick native Remember Jones will take place on March 21st at 7 p.m. For more information or to register for the gala, click here.
