In this video from the recent NJBIA Public Policy Forum, awards were given to prominent government and private-sector business leaders for outstanding career accomplishments.
Public policy strategist Jeannine LaRue accepted the Candy Straight Trailblazer Award in recognition of her achievements working in government and politics during a four-decade career that has inspired countless New Jersey women.
The morning awards session also included the presentation of one of the Paul Troast Awards for outstanding public servants to Sen. Vin Gopal (D-13) for his tireless work on education, business, property tax relief, mental health services, and more in the Legislature.
Leonard C. Johnson Awards recognizing NJBIA member leaders who go and beyond to advocate for business community, were given to:
- Peter Connolly, CEO of the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP)
- John W. Davies, VP of Bayshore Recycling
- Aiysha (AJ) Johnson, CEO and executive director of the New Jersey Society of CPAs
- Dean Paranicas, former president and CEO of the Healthcare Institute of New Jersey
- David Shipley, co-chair of the State and Local Tax Group at Stevens & Lee.
