The New Jersey State Veterans Chamber of Commerce (NJSVCC) and its partners will be conducting several online programs for the veteran & military spouse business communities during National Veterans Small Business Week, beginning Nov. 1.
National Veterans Small Business Week highlights the contributions of nearly 2 million veteran-owned business in the United States. The New Jersey events between Nov. 1–8 will include several “Vet Talks” webinars and the 1:1 Virtual Business Matchmaking event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 6.
The matchmaking event, sponsored by the NJSVCC and the Board of Public Utilities’ Supplier Diversity Development Council, will provide an opportunity for veterans and military spouses who own businesses to meet online one-on-one with procurement professionals from utilities and other industries.
Veteran and military spouse owned businesses can set up their virtual table with their capability statement and brochures and meet directly with buyers from various industries, including 12 utilities that operate in New Jersey.
The one-hour educational webinars begin at 12 p.m. on each of the following dates:
- Nov. 1 – Online Marketing & Advertising Strategies and Best Practices for Your Business taught by the New Jersey Small Business Development Centers network.
- Nov. 2 – Enhancing and Expanding Your Capability Statement taught by NJSCORE and NJSBDC.
- Nov. 3 – A panel discussion on The Status of Veteran Entrepreneurship in New Jersey featuring speakers from the Syracuse University Institute for Veterans and Military Families, Johnson & Johnson, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, the veteran business community, and New Jersey State Veterans Chamber of Commerce.
