NJBIA President and CEO Michele Siekerka discussed the current outlook of New Jersey’s business community on NJ Spotlight News’ Chat Box with David Cruz on Thursday.
Siekerka told Cruz that while many have a “spring in their step” with the end of the pandemic, geopolitical issues relating to Ukraine and inflation are bringing “consternation” to the business community.
However, with warmer weather in sight, she anticipates a better workforce for the tourism season than last year thanks to increased federal efforts to process for J1-visa workers and NJBIA’s efforts to increase teen working hours.
“Hopefully we’re going to have a stronger workforce this year, which will mean everyone will have a better experience and even more economic driving to the bottom line,” Siekerka said.
