The U20 Women’s Jamaica Lacrosse Team, a dedicated group of Jamaican and U.S. players, some of whom hail from New Jersey, is seeking donations of support to compete in the upcoming World Championship that takes place Aug. 11-25 in Hong Kong.
This championship represents the pinnacle of lacrosse competition until the sport debuts in the 2028 Olympics.
This accomplished team and leadership include coach Mark Wilson and player Hope Wilson of Fanwood; Makayla Mitchell of Aberdeen; and player Terese Palomino, who will attend Princeton University in fall 2024. Since this specific group of U20 Women formed a year ago, over half of the team has earned college recruitment offers.
To compete, the U20 Women’s Jamaica Lacrosse Team must still raise $31,000 to cover their accommodations and airfare or risk losing their chance to play in the world championship. Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and residents, and all donations are tax-deductible.
