On this past weekend’s “Minding Your Business” on News 12+, the show visited NJBIA’s recently held Energy and Environmental Policy Forum, where more than 450 attendees heard a candid presentation from Christie 55 founder and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on the origins of the state’s energy affordability challenges and how the business community can improve under a new governor in 2026.
“The crisis I just talked about of decreased energy production in the state, as a result really spiraling costs, are the creation of the Murphy administration there’s no other way to conclude it when you look at the fact that in 2016 and 2017 for the first time in state history, in the last two years of our administration, we were energy self-sufficient,” he said.
“In 2016 and in 2017 we were an energy exporter. We had developed along with our partners in the utility business an ability to not only sustain all the demands we had in New Jersey, but also to export energy.”
NJBIA’s “Minding Your Business” is a weekly TV show and the winner of seven Telly Awards over the past three years, including a gold 2024 Telly in the Interview & Talk Show category.
