Berkeley College has named two new members to its Board of Trustees who will bring a wealth of diverse expertise in finance, education, administration and nursing excellence to the board.

Joe Keeney, founder and CEO, 4th Sector Solutions, and Reneé Roberts-Turner, DHA, Executive Director of Nursing Excellence, Child and Family Services, and Magnet Program Director for Children’s National Hospital, were approved by the Berkeley College Board of Trustees through resolutions on Jan. 24.

“We are pleased to welcome Joe Keeney and Reneé Roberts-Turner to the Berkeley College Board of Trustees,” said Kevin L. Luing, chairman, Berkeley College Board of Trustees. “Joe’s expertise in finance and in administrative services to the education sector as well as Renee’s expertise in nursing excellence will be invaluable to the continued growth of Berkeley College.”

In addition to his role with 4th Sector Solutions, a provider of accounting, financial management, and human resources services to charter schools and educational non-profit organizations, Keeney is founder and chairman of School Food Solutions, which helps schools operate healthy meal programs.

Keeney has more than 25 years of experience in charter school finance, operations, and development. Prior to founding 4th Sector Solutions, he served as president of Edison Charter Schools, where he helped build one of the nation’s largest networks of public charter schools – serving 30,000 students in 15 states.

Roberts-Turner holds faculty appointments at George Washington University as an assistant professor of Pediatrics for the School of Medicine and Health Sciences and a senior clinical service professor for the School of Nursing. She also serves as an adjunct professor at The John Hopkins School of Nursing.

Roberts-Turner led the creation and execution of the Division of Nursing Strategic Plans. She works with healthcare organizations nationally and internationally to evaluate the Professional Practice of Nursing within these organizations as a Magnet Appraiser for the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
