Policy Committee Meeting April 10 9:00 am - 10:00 am Free Althea Ford Email

Please join us on Wednesday, April 10 at 9:00 a.m. for our Virtual NJBIA Education & Workforce Development Policy Committee Meeting being held online via Zoom video conferencing.

Joining us will be Assemblywoman Linda Carter, Chair of the Assembly Higher Education Committee, who will discuss the committee’s legislative priorities for the new session.  Samantha Crockett, Executive Director of Braven-Newark, will also join us to talk about the work they are doing to empower first-generation college students, students of color, and those from low-income backgrounds to secure valuable employment opportunities. We will also hear from Mike Schloff, CEO of Maplewoodshop, to talk about how schools are combating absenteeism, improving math scores, and helping students explore career paths starting in late elementary and middle school by reintroducing woodworking programs in non CTE classrooms with existing teachers.

NJBIA will also be providing a legislative update during the meeting. If you have any matters you would like to have covered, please email Althea Ford at aford@njbia.org.
