HomeFront, a nonprofit that works to end homelessness and break the cycle of poverty in Central Jersey, is asking business and individuals to support its efforts to get more than 1,500 needy children ready for the new school year by sponsoring a child or donating school supplies and clothing.

The Back-to-School Drive offers a variety of ways to help. People can shop in local stores for any items listed on HomeFront’s website or make purchases online using the Amazon Wish List created by HomeFront to ensure children have school uniforms, shoes and supplies they need to start the school year. (Clothing and shoe sizes and quantities are provided on the online wish list).

Tax-deductible financial contributions can also be made to Homefront’s Back to School Fund. Gift cards to Walmart, Target, the Children’s Place and Old Navy for clothing purchases and/or school supplies are also appreciated.

Donations can be brought to HomeFront’s main office, 1880 Princeton Ave., Lawrenceville, on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 12 noon. Please drop off items by Friday, Aug. 18 to ensure the items get to needy families in time for the first day of school.
