Patrick Polazzo was recently appointed president and CEO of American Asphalt, a Collingswood Heights-based company that has been a leader in the manufacturing of asphalt, commercial paving, and parking lot maintenance for more than 100 years.

Polazzo, who most recently served as American Asphalt’s chief operating officer, succeeded longtime President & CEO Robert M. Brown, effective Jan. 1. Brown will retain his position as chairman of the board where he will continue to focus on strategic growth initiatives.

“Patrick’s heart for the company and his compassion will keep our mission and core values a centerpiece of our business operations,” Brown said.

Polazzo has brought extensive general management, business development, and leadership portfolio to American Asphalt since joining the company in 2019, Brown said. As COO, Polazzo managed all departments within the company.

“I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to lead American Asphalt by continuing our culture and reputation as a trusted partner to all our valued client,” Polazzo said.

Polazzo earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

American Asphalt is an employee-owned company with locations throughout New Jersey, including two state-of-the-art asphalt manufacturing plants in South Jersey. It handles all aspects of paving projects for general contractors, property managers, builders, and other commercial customers. Last year, the company acquired assets in North Jersey to expand its market reach in asphalt parking lot maintenance.
