For those looking to get in on the next big thing, the World Economic Forum has released its list of the top 10 emerging technologies of 2017. The forum annually highlights technological breakthroughs. This year’s offerings include artificial leaves that convert CO2 into fuel, harvesting water from air, and vaccines developed from genes.
The list is put together by the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network and Global Future Councils in collaboration with Scientific American magazine and its Board of Advisors.
“Each technology was chosen for its potential to improve lives, transform industries and safeguard the planet,” according to the Forum’s website. “The experts were also looking for indications that the technologies have reached a level of maturity that would enable widespread take-up in the coming 3-5 years.”
