On this past weekend’s episode of “Minding Your Business,” NJBIA Chief Government Affairs Officer Chrissy Buteas discussed recent bills signed by Gov. Phil Murphy – including a new law that commits $3 million in annual funding to NJBIA’s Basic Skills program.
“This is a bill I am thrilled that Governor Murphy has signed,” Buteas told host Bob Considine. “(This Basic Skills programs) allows businesses to send employees to community colleges to get the skills they need to perform their job functions.”
“This has been, by far, the most successful workforce development program in the state. So by Governor Murphy signing this bill, he has doubled the amount of money put into this fund, which has already trained over 185,000 New Jersey employees.
Buteas also discusses the latest ongoing during the current lame duck session in the New Jersey Legislature, and the important mission of getting more disabilities into New Jersey’s workforce.
