Many small business owners are upbeat about their companies and the economy, but they’re not quite ready to start adding to their workforce in a big way, according to a survey released by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and MetLife.
As AP Business Writer Joyce Rosenberg reports, the MetLife & U.S. Chamber of Commerce Small Business Index rose to 62.3 in the third quarter, with 61 percent of owners saying their companies are in good financial health. But only about a quarter of them plan to hire in the next year.
