NJBIA President & CEO Michele Siekerka will be the guest speaker at the Monmouth-Ocean Development Council’s “State of the State of Business in New Jersey” event on Friday, Sept. 15.
Siekerka has led NJBIA since 2014, advocating on behalf of large and small business as part of her mission to make New Jersey more regionally competitive and affordable. NJBIA is the most impactful statewide association representing New Jersey businesses.
At the MODC event, Siekerka will share insights about the FY24 state budget, economic trends, and the upcoming “lame duck” legislative session. Lame duck sessions, which occur between the November election and the swearing-in of new officeholders in January, can be unpredictable because departing lawmakers voting on bills do not have to face voters again.
NJBIA has been out front in urging lawmakers not to pass any new mandates during the lame duck session that would drive up the cost of doing business in New Jersey.
The MODC luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. at the Jumping Brook Country Club in Neptune. For registration information, go here.
