We have another interesting DEP air rule proposal for your information.
This is an attempt to codify some of the “transformation” recommendations that have been developed since the beginning of the Christie administration. It seems they’re trying to move these to rulemaking before the end of his term, so things are moving fast.
There was an invite-only stakeholder meeting on Dec. 19 that Toby Hanna, our NJBIA Environment Committee chair attended. The meeting minutes and slides can be found here.
The resiliency and permit exemptions are all things the regulated community has asked for. The air toxics measures are something to watch, but Toby is hopeful that they’ll be common sense changes that don’t have significant impact.
It’s not an earth- moving change, but notable and something for the regulated community to follow.
