Gov. Chris Christie signed legislation to establish a women’s vocational pilot training program to promote economic self-sufficiency of low-income women through participation in non-traditional, high-demand, high-wage occupations. The legislation, A-3717, (Sumter, Huttle), directs the Department of Labor & Workforce Development to consult with the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations’ Center for Women and Work, to develop and implement the program. The law took effect immediately.
