NJBIA’s Chief Government Affairs Officer Chrissy Buteas recently appeared on the podcast for the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants about the numerous healthcare issues facing the state.
“Anyone who has ever had to deal with providing health insurance for their employees is aware of the enormous impact health care issues have on the bottom line,” says podcast host Jeff Kazerman.
Buteas discussed New Jersey’s plan to launch its own health insurance exchange and the re-insurance plan it has put into place.
Maternal-child health, the opioid epidemic, lead in drinking water and a host of other health concerns have also caught the attention of lawmakers and could eventually impact businesses.
And no discussion on business and healthcare would be complete without analyzing the rising cost of health insurance.
“Representing the business community, we want to make sure our members can provide high-quality, cost-effective health insurance to their employees,” Buteas said.
