NJBIA President & CEO Michele Siekerka, Esq., (center) testified against the $15 minimum wage legislation before the Assembly Labor Committee on Thursday.

“Historically, NJBIA has been opposed to a minimum wage that artificially inflates the value of a low-skilled position,” Siekerka said. “We have also called for a responsible and predictive pathway to increasing New Jersey’s minimum wage. Unfortunately, this bill falls woefully short of that standard and exacerbates an already challenging climate for New Jersey small businesses.”
