NJBIA looks forward to working with Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips (R-40) and Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso (R-13) who have announced the creation of a Tax Cut Caucus. Both legislators want to bring more attention to affordability and reducing taxes instead of additional state spending, and they plan to use the caucus to review New Jersey’s pending taxes and make recommendations to cut or eliminate existing taxes over the two-year legislative session that is about to begin.
Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick (R-21) cited “improving New Jersey’s business environment” as a reason why Assembly Republicans are starting this new caucus. The legislators also cited many polls showing taxes as a top public concern in New Jersey, with property taxes leading the list. Assemblyman DePhillips also said the caucus will be focused on the corporate business tax and its recent changes.
