Affordable Employee Training Exclusively for NJBIA Members LEARN MORE

NJBIA President & CEO Michele Siekerka talks about the college “brain drain” and the future of higher education in New Jersey during a lively panel discussion in the latest “Think Tank with Steve Adubato,” airing this week on public television stations.

“This state is not visible when it comes to higher ed as a brand,” Siekerka said, noting that colleges in other states do much more outreach to “pitch” themselves to New Jersey high school students. For this reason, NJBIA’s Education Equation report urged New Jersey institutions to do more branding to attract New Jersey students to in-state schools.

Other panelists include New Jersey Higher Education Secretary Brian Bridges, Ph.D., and MZM Construction President & CEO Marjorie Perry, who also chairs the Board of Overseers of the NJIT Foundation, the university’s fundraising arm.

The show was first broadcast on Saturday and can also be viewed at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on WHYY.
