  • Administrative Associate

    What you’ll do:

    You will be a critical part of the NJBIA team as the Administrative Associate working for the Chief Government Affairs Officer. You will be on the front line supporting our lobby team in providing timely updates to our members on legislative issues & labor laws that affect businesses in NJ. You will provide administrative support to the Chief Government Affairs Officer and one Vice President. You will manage the coordination and scheduling of meetings and events – both in person and virtual & scheduling calls. You will manage multiple high-priority tasks and expense reporting.

    You will have the opportunity to work with all levels of staff including special projects in a cross functional capacity in marketing, events and executive level staff.

    Other responsibilities & skills:

    • Coordinate projects primarily related to Government Affairs
    • Membership database maintenance, reporting & metrics
    • Regularly working & communicating with executive level staff both internally and externally
    • Heavy calendar management at the executive level both internal and external
    • Comfortable with changes in priorities that may shift quickly
    • Compose correspondence for Chief Government Affairs Officer’s approval and signature
    • Provide information & legislative status updates to our members

     

    Required/Must have:

    • 5 years in the executive/administrative assistant field, preferably within an advocacy/government affairs environment
    • Thrive in a fast-paced environment & be extremely organized
    • Ability to move boxes up to 20 pounds
    • Experience managing expense reports and budget coding as appropriate
    • Excellent coordination skills
    • Excellent communication and writing skills
    • Highly skilled in Excel reporting
    • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office and database systems
    • Interest NJ government and NJBIA’s mission
    • Overtime as needed

     

    Desired/Good to have:

    • Familiarity with Regfox, Member Suite or other database experience
    • Associates degree
    • Familiarity with NJ government
    • Experience working in an advocacy/government affairs environment

  • Coordinator, Customer Outreach & Retention

    What you’ll do:

    You will be a critical part of our membership team as the Coordinator, Customer Outreach & Retention. You will be responsible for coordinating NJBIA’s engagement and retention strategy to improve the overall user experience and markedly increase customer/ membership engagement. Analyzes digital market and membership data to drive targeted strategies to engage customers and increase retention rates. Works cross-functionally with various departments to establish strategic plans and goals and is accountable to meet set goals. This role works closely with the marketing team to inform required content, analytics, and execution of digital content initiatives for the Association across all platforms to increase engagement and retention. Provides support to all customer membership programming.

    Responsibilities:

    • Create an ongoing process for customer outreach throughout the Association
    • Recommend changes to the retention process that align closely with Association’s strategic objectives to increase engagement and retention rates
    • Communicate and emphasize the full scope of membership products & highlight how they solve business problems to members of the Association
    • Maintain clean & current data for outreach efforts (end-users and distributors)
    • Provide accurate and timely project reporting on all engagement and retention activities
    • Oversee the onboarding of new members
    • Leverage digital and website content initiatives to drive website traffic with target audience

     

    Required/Must have:

    • Bachelors degree
    • Three years relevant experience in sales support & project experience in marketing, communications, or similar businessDemonstrated analytical skills
    • Experience translating data into actionable strategy
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and project management skills
    • Ability to move boxes up to 20 pounds
    • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office and database systems

     

    Required Technical Skills: CRM software, analytics platforms, social media platforms and Microsoft Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook), AMS systems experience a plus.
