On this past weekend’s “Minding Your Business” on News 12+, Founder and Chief Impact Officer of Maple and Monroe Shakira Johnson talked about her social-impact think-and-do tank as well as her upcoming appearance at the New Jersey Women Business Leaders Forum.

Johnson told host Bob Considine that the Maple and Monroe effort is a “reimagining” of her Johnson PR and Events business to help more corporations with their corporate social responsibility and, in turn, help more people.

“In addition to helping corporations, we have an internal goal to positively impact one million people per year through these campaigns, initiatives and events,” Johnson said. “It’s really more us leaning into social good and social enterprise and really being laser focused on the type of campaigns and work we want to do with companies.

“And doing it from a place of love, understanding they’re doing their best, but also from a place of accountability. We really need to move the needle.”

NJBIA’s “Minding Your Business” is a weekly TV show, and winner of two 2023 Telly Awards, that airs on News 12+ at 9:30 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday, as well as 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

News 12+ is available on most Fios and Optimum systems in New Jersey, or you can stream it live here.
