The Trump Administration has tapped former New Jersey congressman Scott Garrett to lead the U.S. Export-Import Bank.

Garrett, who was defeated in his re-election bid last year, will oversee the agency designed to help small businesses export goods and services overseas. The bank covers the financing gaps with loans, loan guarantees and export credit insurance to U.S. companies. It directly supports American jobs, and in Fiscal Year 2014, it generated a nearly $700 million surplus for U.S. taxpayers.

NJBIA has long supported the Export-Import Bank.
