The State of New Jersey is encouraging employers to familiarize themselves with who is eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations now – and who will be next – and to relay that information to their employees.
The state has updated its COVID-19 Information Hub with a full page dedicated to eligibility, which can be found here.
Currently, groups who are eligible for vaccination in New Jersey at this time include:
- Paid and unpaid healthcare workers
- Residents and workers of long-term care and high-risk congregate care facilities
- First responders including sworn law enforcement and fire professionals
- Individuals over 65
- Individuals 16-64 that have certain medical conditions that increase the risk of severe illness from the virus
- Pre-K to 12 educators and staff
- Childcare workers in licensed and registered settings
- Transportation workers
- Additional public safety workers
- Additional high-risk individuals
Starting on March 29, frontline essential workers in the following categories will be eligible for vaccination:
- Food production, agriculture, and food distribution;
- Eldercare and support;
- Warehousing and logistics;
- Social services support staff;
- Elections personnel;
- Hospitality;
- Medical supply chain;
- Postal and shipping services;
- Clergy; and,
- Judicial system.
