Each year the Council on State Taxation (COST) and the State Tax Research Institute (STRI), jointly publishes an analysis on state and local business taxes. In my opinion, it is one of the most thorough and comprehensive studies on business taxes out there. As such, I wanted to share their 15th annual study, “Total State and Local Business Taxes: State-by-State Estimates for Fiscal Year 2016.”
The report is prepared by Ernst & Young LLP, and details state-by-state estimates of the state and local taxes paid by businesses for Fiscal Year 2016 and provides an accurate picture of state and local taxes that businesses face in each state.
This report will come in handy for those who want to see how New Jersey’s tax climate for business compares to other states across the country.
