The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP) and the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ) are nearing the 1 million meals mark in their fourth annual food drive.
NJMEP President John W. Kennedy credited a recent boost to last Friday’s plea for more donations during NJMEP’s Manufacturing Day in Somerset, an event which highlighted the successful work that has been done during 2021 by New Jersey’s 11,000 manufacturers.
Monetary donations to the 2021 Manufacturing Cares Virtual Food Drive are still being accepted online at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s website here.
This year, Employment Horizons joined NJMEP and CIANJ in their food drive, which rallied manufacturers and the community at large to donate non-perishable food items at the three groups’ workshops and other events held throughout 2021. The food drive culminated at the annual Made in New Jersey celebration in Somerset on Oct. 4.
