NJBIA Deputy Chief Government Affairs Officer Raymond Cantor, who leads NJBIA’s advocacy efforts on environmental and energy matters impacting NJ’s business community, was recently named to ROI-NJ’s Environment Influencers List for 2023.

Cantor has brought the business community perspective to high-profile public debates on a wide range of energy and environmental policies, such as the Murphy administration’s clean energy goals and the ban on sales of new gas-powered cars by 2035.

During the past three years, Cantor has also put together New Jersey’s most comprehensive energy conferences that have brought CEOs of energy companies, scientists and academics and other stakeholders for thought-provoking discussions on policy and regulatory matters.

A former assistant commissioner and, later, chief adviser to the commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection, Cantor began his career working at the state’s Office of Legislative Services as senior counsel in the Environment, Energy & Natural Resources section. He joined NJBIA in 2019.
