The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development has released the final regulations governing the year-old paid sick leave mandate that businesses provide up to 40 hours of paid sick leave per year.

NJBIA is still analyzing the regulations. Go here to access the online version (the regulations begin on page 38 after the comments and responses from a public hearing on them).

The law, which took effect in October 2018, requires most private sector employers to provide at least 40 hours of paid sick leave in a 12-month period to every employee for their own diagnosis, treatment, or preventative care, or for that of a family member.
