A study on behalf Siemens Digital Factory Division suggests that manufacturers on the whole are falling behind in the use of digitalization to improve productivity.

Among the digital tools available, cloud computing was the most widely used, with 85 percent of manufacturers implementing it. However, only 34 percent of manufacturers employed advanced data analytics tools. The study was based on a survey of 209 senior executives of large manufacturers in the United States.
