Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Murphy on Monday unveiled a workforce development plan whose centerpiece is free community college tuition for all New Jerseyans within four years.

In a press conference outside Mercer County Community College’s new Trenton Hall building, Murphy said that, if elected, he would have “a singular focus on workforce development.”

In addition to free community college tuition, Murphy also called for an aggressive investment in apprenticeships and more state support for entrepreneurship so that  New Jersey can become a leader in innovation, healthcare,  biotech, logistics and advanced manufacturing.
