The New Jersey Business Immigration Coalition is seeking nominations for its annual Immigrant Entrepreneur of the Year Awards that recognize first-generation business leaders for their extraordinary contributions to business, technological innovation, nonprofit work and the state’s economic growth.
“Through their talent, risk-taking, and hard work, they have accelerated growth in emerging industries and fueled the competitiveness of companies in the global economy,” the coalition said in a statement announcing the opening of the nomination process. “At the same time, immigrants have breathed new life into communities that have suffered from disinvestment and population decline.”
Awards are given in six categories: Innovation, Growth, Advocacy, Nonprofit Achievement, Rising Star and Entrepreneur of the Year. For additional information about each category, go to https://njbusinessimmigration.org/award-categories.
This year’s awards will be presented at a ceremony hosted by the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce on Sept. 21. To nominate an immigrant entrepreneur in any of the above categories, please complete a nomination form available at https://njbusinessimmigration.org/nominations.
The deadline for nominations is June 30.
