Taft Communications this week announced InspireWorks, a new initiative to help Trenton-area nonprofits and small business leaders sharpen their communications skills and strengthen advocacy for the positive progress happening in the state’s capital.

Greater Trenton, the nonprofit economic development organization focused on the city, is partnering with Taft on the initiative. Other nonprofits and foundations are expected to send participants through the four-month program.

InspireWorks kicks off in October with workshops at Taft’s new Roebling Center offices at 35 Clark St., the former home of the Roebling Wire Works complex and carpentry shop.

“The InspireWorks initiative is inspired by the entrepreneurial Trenton community, and the history of the Roebling Wire Works complex,” said Taft CEO & Managing Partner Ted Deutsch on Wednesday when the program was announced.

“When we moved our firm to Trenton, we set out to find ways to give back. Our team is now excited to share Taft’s experience in leadership communications to add value for Trenton’s current and emerging leaders and, in doing so, amplify the story of Trenton’s resurgence.”

Building on decades of Taft ClearPoint experience sharpening the communications capabilities of more than 3,500 executives from clients around the world, InspireWorks will offer two cohorts per year. Each cohort will include four separate two-hour communications workshops followed by individual one-on-one coaching with experienced Taft consultants.

Eligible participants must work for a Trenton-based non-profit or small business (25 employees or less) that has existed for at least 12 months. Organizations in the Greater Trenton region will be considered as cohort slots are available.

The sole financial obligation for organizations sending participants to InspireWorks is a nominal $100 fee. The program is made possible through Taft and other partners subsidizing its cost.

Individuals or organizations interested in more information and/or applying for the first cohort can visit taftcommunications.com/inspireworks and should apply by Sept. 20. A second cohort will begin in March 2025, with a January application deadline to be announced later this year.
