NJBIA President & CEO Michele Siekerka, Esq., delivered a forceful argument against the proposed $15 minimum wage legislation (A-15) in testimony before the Assembly Labor Committee on Thursday morning.
“Historically, NJBIA has been opposed to a minimum wage that artificially inflates the value of a low-skilled position,” Siekerka said. “We have also called for a responsible and predictive pathway to increasing New Jersey’s minimum wage. Unfortunately, this bill falls woefully short of that standard and exacerbates an already challenging climate for New Jersey small businesses.”
